In October 2007, gategroup was successful in winning the entire easyJet onboard meal business, which included the development and supply of passenger and crew food. The challenge was to review the food offered for crew consumption at all bases in the U.K. and E.U., agree on a new range of products and introduce these within four weeks. We were able to complete this due to our market knowledge and network of key suppliers to the retail and foodservice industries. Supplair reviewed the passenger offering and positioned a new brand specifically for easyJet, called ‘Café Culture’. This would allow easyJet to anchor its offering to an image of its destinations and reflect the European lifestyle of its customer base. The new crew and passenger offering was able to improve customer perception and grow the demand for products significantly.
